Good and Bad

Good news first. Faith is doing wonderful! She started pulling herself up on furniture the other day and is also doing that in her crib. So we lowered her crib yesterday so she won't fall out. We lowered it all the way to the bottom and let me tell ya....sure is hard getting her in and out of there! Being short is hard! LOL But I'll get used to it. Yesterday we got to see Katy and Andrew. Andrew is so darn cute! And so big too! He is 22 pounds! Poor Faith is 15, if even that! We took pictures and I'll have to post those another time. It was so good to see them.
Now the bad news....Faith is sick! She woke up this morning all congested and has been spitting up really bad. We took her to church but kept on spitting up so Faith and I came home and James is still at church as he is running the sound board today. Poor honey buns! I feel so bad. She fell asleep on the car ride home and she is just out cold right now. I hope she sleeps a lot today so she'll feel better soon!

Becoming a Big Girl!

Today we had Faith's 3 week post-op appointment and all is well. She has one stitch left but that will dissolve soon. The doctor gave us the ok to not have her wear her arm restraints anymore and she can start foods again! Yeah! I fed her cereal and carrots this afternoon and she ate it like a pro! I can't believe how MUCH she ate though! Wow! Before when I was feeding her cereal and carrots, she wasn't taking a whole container of it. Today she ate a whole container full of carrots plus a bunch of cereal! I was happy! I am looking forward to weaning her off her bottles and starting to introduce foods to her. The doctor said that we can do stage 1 foods this week, stage 2 next week, stage 3 the week after that and then we can feed her whatever we want! Yip yee!!!!! We are so thankful that her mouth has healed well. Thanks to everyone for your prayers throughout everything we've gone through. You have no idea how much that meant to us.

Faith's First Visit To The Park

Today was a gorgeous day! Faith and I went for a nice long walk this afternoon, about an hour walk. Sure was good to get out there! Then once James got home from work we went to the park that is just a block away from our house. Faith had a great time! She went on the swings and down three different slides! She loved every minute of it!

Video's of Faith

DISCLAIMER: FAITH WAS NOT INJURED DURING THE MAKING OF ANY OF THESE VIDEOS!

Can't Believe It

Faith is 10 months old!!! So much has happened, good and bad, these past 10 months. And now we are hoping to be looking at blue skies ahead of us! Hopefully no more surgeries or hospital visits for us. Faith will probably need ear tubes again but that's a simple procedure. She is one busy body! She is crawling all over. Sure is keeping us on our toes! It's so fun watching her get around on her own. She gets toys all over the house in no time. She just goes from toy to toy. Just so fun watching her grow up.
Our weekend was good. Friday we hung out with some friends, Saturday we picked my parents up the airport and spent the afternoon and evening with them. They enjoyed seeing Faith as they missed her while they were in Florida. We went to El Burrito for dinner with them. Sure is a tasty place to go! Yesterday we went to church and just had family time in the afternoon and evening. Overall we had a good weekend.
I am looking forward to the nice weather we are supposed to have this week! Faith and I are hoping to go for walks and the park this week. I can't wait!!!!

Why Go To Church?

If you are spiritually alive, you're going to love this! If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it. If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor. If went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!"

When you are DOWN to nothing....God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spriritual nourishment!

When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say "Jesus, could you get that for me?"

Life your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders and says..."Oh no, s/he's awake!"

Taking Advantage of the Beautiful Weather!

Today was sooooooooooooo beautiful!!!! James and Faith went shopping together early this afternoon while I took my parents to the airport as they went to Flordia for the week. Then I got home and started yardwork. James was still out shopping so I wanted to surprise him with having the yard raked up. Our friends came over about 1/2 hour after I started and helped me. James was surprised that we got it done. I felt so happy that we surprised him! One less thing he had to do today. After that we went to a baseball diamond and hit baseballs. That was fun! I actually did really well! Better than I thought I would. But I can't throw the ball worth a toot! So no softball for me this year! Then we came back to our house and we grilled hamburgers for dinner. Then we decided to walk to get some ice cream at the near-by ice cream shop. Faith had her first taste of ice cream and she loved it! She couldn't get enough of it. It was cute. She had it all over her chin. I wish I had the camera with me. Oh well.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I am looking forward to spending the day with family. We are going to have dinner with my aunt and grandpa. The weather is suppose to be even nicer tomorrow so I am hoping to spend time outside. Hopefully go for a nice long walk. I am totally loving this weather. I can't get enough of it!!!

Quick Update

Faith is doing soooooo well!! I think her stomach was really upset on Tuesday and that is why she was so cranky and didn't want to eat or sleep. Wednesday she was a pooping machine and has done good ever since then. She drinks from her sippy like a pro! We are just thankful how quickly she has healed and how well she is doing. Thankyou to everyone for your prayers, thoughts, phone calls, and cards. We have felt a lot of love and care from everyone. It's a wonderful feeling!

Happy Birthday James!

Today is James birthday! Faith and I sang Happy Birthday to him before he left for work today. Once he gets home tonight he gets to open his presents. Last night my parents came over for dinner and cake and ice cream and I had James take the rest of the cake to work today as I don't need it sitting here to tempt me to eat it! Hopefully they eat the rest of it!

Faith is doing good. Yesterday was a horrible day for us. She cried and screamed the whole day. She would not eat and would not sleep. So I called my mom and she came over after work for a bit so I could just get some rest. I just relaxed in my bedroom while my mom handled Faith. She just refuses to drink her formula from the sippy. However, she will drink juice from it. I just don't know what else to do. She won't take formula from the syringe anymore either. I just pray that she will start drinking formula from the sippy and SOON!!

Oh, on a happy note...Faith rolled over from her back to her stomach yesterday. She had yet to accomplish that and she did it! Yeah for Faith!! She sure moves all over the place now!!
