Snow Snow and More Snow!!!

We got TONS of snow today. Started in the middle of the night and continued until about 1pm today. Sure was crazy! The snow plows couldn't keep up. Feel so bad for those drivers. They are probably working a really long day/night! We are supposed to get even more snow on Sunday. They are predicting another 8 inches! We probably have close to a foot of snow already from today.

Here is a pic of all the snow from today.

The next two pics are hard to see and I apologize for that...but it's James's truck stuck on our street!

Little Helper

Faith and I have been at my parents house the past couple of days helping my mom. Faith thinks it's fun to play with my mom's walker. I have a couple of videos of her with that on the post below.
Yesterday when we were there, Faith decided to help her grampie with paperwork while he was home on his lunch break. She kept stealing all his pencils and pens and my dad was just a laughing. It was so funny. My dad would ask to have a pen back and Faith would shake her head "no" and keep moving them away from him. She is a grampie's girl. On Monday she shared his lunch with him. LOL Here are a couple of pics of her helping grampie.

Video of how smart Faith is! :)

Check-Up

Faith had her 18 month check-up today. All went very well. She is 31 1/4" long and weighs in at a whopping 19.8 pounds! We were thinking she was at least 20 pounds, but...not quite yet. She is still our little peanut!

Been Awhile

Sorry that I haven't been updating as frequent as in the past. Life has just gotten really busy and I forget about updating! Or when I think of updating, I just don't have time. So I thought I would take a few minutes this morning and update you on things.
My mom had partial knee replacement surgery yesterday. All went well. She was in a lot of pain last night when we visited her so hopefully that will get under control for her. She already had physical therapy this morning and will have it again this afternoon. Going to be painful for her for awhile but praying that she will have a speedy recovery! She is anticipating coming home on Sunday.
James's job is going really well. He has been working in Greenville for quite some time now. He is so glad he made the switch with employers. He likes the guys he's working for and is enjoying his work once again.
I, too am enjoying my job! I am so thankful that God placed this job in my lap. It was hard at first to be away from Faith but it has gotten easier. Still hard at times. But once I'm at work, I just focus on what I have to do there and it's great. Faith enjoys her grandma Overbeek watching her on Thursdays and loves daycare on Fridays. She gets to play with other children and just has fun. On Saturday's she's with her dada. Whom she just adores!
Faith is getting so big! Tomorrow she will be 18 months! Sure is hard to believe! We are just so amazed with everything that she knows. She is one smart cookie! We are thinking of starting to potty train her shortly. She has shown signs of being ready without us even teaching her. So I'm gonna get some potty training books from the library and read up on it before we attempt! So we'll see how it goes!
We are looking forward to spending Christmas with our family. Christmas Eve we are having Russ, Marilyn and Grandma Bosma over for supper and open gifts after that. And on Christmas Day we will be with my family at my parents house. Still hard to believe that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! Sure did come quickly this year!!

Croup

Please pray for Faith as she has croup right now. She has a mild case of it and we're praying that it doesn't develop into anything more. Thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was very good. We started the day off by going to church and then we came home and got ready to go to Thanksgiving dinner with my family! Faith enjoyed her meal very much and loved all the attention she got from everyone. She is such a little ham! She didn't want to take a nap so she got a little crabby towards the end. But she's in bed now and will hopefully sleep all night!

Here is a pic of Faith and her Uncle Kevin relaxing.

Here she is helping grampie play cards.

Here she is with James after church wearing her pretty dress.

Video of Faith and Uncle Don

Fun Times

Last night we were able to have dinner with Don and Jodi and their 3 girls, Gma Bosma and Russ and Marilyn. Here are just a few pictures from the evening. The girls got along really well. Faith and Eve were giving each other hugs and kisses. It was adorable!

Here is the newest addition to Don and Jodi's Family-Sarah Ruth and I. Ain't she cute?!?!

Don and Eve and just as I snapped the picture Faith popped her head in the picture. Silly girl!

So Far....So Good

Well, I have two days of work under my belt. Both of which went well. Yesterday kinda dragged and I also got a really bad headache about half way thru the day. But today went really fast and it was good. Everyone there is super nice and has made me feel welcomed. I am so blessed to find such a great job with great people. I actually look forward to going into work. I was worried that I wouldn't. Granted, it is hard leaving Faith. But I know that she's in good hands. I'm hoping it will get easier to leave instead of harder. Tonight she's spending the night at my mom's as tomorrow James and I both are working. So I kinda feel like today I've hardly spent any time with her. I did have all morning with her but after work I had about an hour before my parents picked her up. And tomorrow I'll see her for a few hours in the afternoon as at night we are going to a Euchre Tournament. I'm looking forward to Sunday to spend all day with her and James. Will be a good day!

{Insert Title Here}

I don't really have a title for this post. Just kinda a quick update on things. Faith got her sutures removed yesterday. She did really well for that. She sat very still and just looked at me with her big blue eyes. I was really worried that she would cry and fuss. But nope, she didn't! We went to dinner with my parents last night to celebrate how well she did!
James has been working a lot lately. He worked this past Sat and on Monday he put in 14 hours. Came home and slept for about 6 hours and out the door he was again for work. Poor guy! He might have to work this Saturday too but we're not sure yet. Just have to wait and see how things go.
I start my new job tomorrow. I'm very excited. I am kinda nervous though too. Just a bunch of mixed emotions. I'm sure all will go well.
Next week we are hoping to get together with James's brother Don and his wife and their 3 girls. We are excited to meet their newest member, Sarah.
Well...that's about it in a nutshell. Nothing too exciting going on. Hope that you are all doing well.

Pumpkin Carving 101

At Post Family Farms, I bought a pumpkin and Andrew and Sarah helped us carve it lat night. We are all new to this so it was quite exciting! Here are just a few pictures of the evening.

James carving the top.

The yummy pumpkin seeds that we baked. Oh so tasty!

The pumpkin.

Andrew drawing the face on it.

James, Andrew, and Sarah being silly for a picture. It was fun carving the pumpkin. We put a candle in it and have it sitting on our front porch. Pretty nifty!!

Videos from Post Family

Post Family Farms

Today Faith, Sarah and I went to Post Family Farms. James was working and he was bummed he couldn't go. But us gals had a fun time!

Faith wasn't too sure about the cow in this picture. Before I got my camera out, Faith had her hand out for the cow to lick and then the cow put Faith's entire hand in it's mouth. It was sooooo funny. Faith didn't really know what to do.

Trying to get her to look at the camera and smile. Didn't work out too well!

Faith and I.

Riding the pumkin train. She really liked it at first but then after awhile she didn't like it and started crying. Poor thing!

Enjoying the hay ride. She just LOVED the hay. She kept tossing it around and waving her arms. It was sooo adorable!

Pictures

Here are the pictures. First one is of the culprit (the leg of the piano) and the second is of Faith's eye. Hard to tell but it is black and blue. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all. So that is good. Stitches will be removed on Tuesday.

First Big Boom

Well...every child has their first big boom and tonight was Faith's. She was walking and lost her balance and fell into the leg of the piano. She started bawling and I got her up and saw that her eyebrow was bleeding. James got cold clothes to put on it and off to the Urgent Care we went. She has 2 stitches in her eyebrow. She was a trooper! I think this was more dramatic for me than Faith. My poor baby girl! Pictures to come tomorrow.

Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho...

...it's off to work I go!! Yup, that's right. I am heading back to the work world. I got hired yesterday at Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic in Jenison. I will be working part time. I am super excited to start. This is going to be so great for us for so many reasons. I have been feeling kinda antsy lately and just feel like I need to do something more and so I started looking for jobs and this one came across my path and it just felt right the whole time. I had 2 interviews and also job shadowed there last week. This is an answer to many many prayers! I will start next week Thursday. The hours are perfect and just what I was looking for. I'll be working roughly 15 hours a week which is what I wanted. I didn't want to work a lot of hours and be away from my family. So this is excellent!!
Thanks to all of you who have been praying for us. We have felt your prayers!

Uncle Kevin

My brother was in town last night thru today and Faith just LOVES her uncle Kev! She sits so well on his lap for him and just loves making faces at him. Here are some pictures that were captured today.

No Shirt...No Problem!!

Here are some pictures of Faith before her nap (in clothes!) and then one of her after her nap. Notice no shirt on. Her socks aren't on either, but you can't see that in the picture. She just cracks me up!

Faith Love's her Daddy!

Faith just loves her daddy and this video shows just how much!

Quick Update

Just got Faith up from her nap to find that she had taken off all her clothes. Only thing still on was her diaper. Crazy girl!! Hope this doesn't become a daily occurance with her!

Ahhhh...Finally!

It has been a long 2 1/2 weeks without our computer. We got it up and running last night. Sure feels good to have it back. It's amazing how much we rely on the silly thing.
Lots has been happening around here. Our basement has the drywall hung. We had big helpers! (Andrew, Sarah and my dad) We are hoping to get it mudded soon. Waiting on a few things for that.
James has been busy with work and Cadets. Work is going really well for him. He's been working in Greenville these last few weeks. He is enjoying being with this company. It was a good change for him. Cadets has been keeping him busy too. He is on the council board for Cadets so he has meetings every other week with that plus his normal weekly meetings with the Cadets. And all the fun outings have started too. This Saturday is the Chuckwagon. I for one am not sure what goes on at the Chuckwagon but James has a good time as do the Cadets.
Faith is busy and enjoying life. We read books and play all the time. Her nap times are close to non existant right now. I'm lucky if she'll sleep for 1 hour during the day. So needless to say, we're always on the go!! She is getting some new teeth. I think 2 are popping up right now. She sure is getting big! My mom and I went shopping yesterday and got her some new clothes. With all this cool weather she didn't have much to keep her warm but now she has a start! Gotta love Target! We got her 3 new outfits, tights (3-pack), and socks (6-pack) for like $25!! Can't beat that!
As for me...well...I'm just trying to keep up with Faith. This girl has a ton of energy! I try to get out and have some "me" time but it's hard with James's schedule. I do get away for choir once a week so that is nice. Other than that, nothing new or exciting for me. I'm kinda boring!
I have posted several posts today with pictures and videos. Hope you enjoy them!

Faith is now sporting the "Pebbles" look on a frequent basis. It's so darn cute! She's gonna not like me for this when she's older! LOL

Basement Project

We have finished hanging all the drywall in our basement. Still has to be mudded but that will hopefully happen soon! Here are some pictures of our wonderful helpers!

Wow...

...another week has gone by and I am sorry for not updating at all. Our computer is dead. Well...hopefully not dead dead but we'll see. We haven't had time this week to work on it at all. Hopefully today we can get it up and running once again. So needless to say, I'm borrowing my parents laptop for a bit.
We have all the drywall hung in our basement. I will post pictures later. We worked all day last Saturday on it and then James worked on it Wed with Andrew and Thur with my dad and got it finished. It's all ready to mud and sand. Hopefully within the next week or two that will get done. Sure will be nice to have that finished. Sure took long enough!
Faith is doing well. She is one busy little girl. She's always on the move. She just loves books and wants to read all the time. I should get her more books as the books are kinda getting boring for me. I have a couple of them memorized already. But as long as Faith is enjoying it, that's the main thing! She had an appointment yesterday and got weighed and she weighs 18 pounds 4 ounces! She's getting bigger! Poor thing is still in her infant car seat. She still fits in it and she can't face forward yet as she's not 20 pounds. She's 15 months old!!! Hopefully soon we can get her a new car seat.
James is at a Cadet campout this weekend. They left last night and should return at some point today. Not sure when but that's ok. Faith and I have errands that we need to run and also have to take a nap!
Well, I should get going. I will post pictures once our computer is working again. Hope that everyone is doing well.

It's Already Friday

Not much has been happening at our household this past week. James has been busy with work and also Cadets. Faith and I have been busy hanging out and getting on each others nerves. She's been cranky and I've been suffering from a migraine all week. Such a great combo! I was hoping to take Faith to the zoo yesterday but I did not feel up to going. I felt bad as I know that Faith would've enjoyed going and seeing the animals but I just had no energy or ambition to go. So we'll go another time.
Tomorrow we are planning on hanging drywall in our basement. It's finally getting done! Only started working on it about 2 years ago! LOL It will be nice to have that finished. Then on to bigger and better things.
So yeah...that's about it. Nothing real exciting happening over here. We're just kinda boring this week. Sorry!

Busy Busy Busy

We have been really busy this past week and poor little Faith has not been feeling well. She's decided she doesn't want to sleep thru the night anymore and the other day she had a fever. I'm pretty sure this is all due to her teething. I can't wait until she's done teething.
This past weekend James had a softball tournament. Did they win? you might ask...and I'd have to say....ummmm...NO! They did not play well at all. It was kinda sad to see. Oh well. All the guys had fun anyways and the team walked away without any major injuries. A few minor ones though. Nothing a little TLC can't handle!
Even though Faith isn't feeling well, she's still pretty happy and is on the go. It doesn't take her long to fill the house with toys and evidence of where she's been. She loves her books and if you don't read them to her, she gets mad and lets you know it! It's kinda cute. I have a lot of her books memorized now. Especially since she always brings the same ones to me to read to her. It's funny.
Faith is needing speech therapy and will be getting it once a month. Not sure when it will start. Probably within the next week or two. She was evaluated by 2 people and both agreed that speech therapy would be good for her. They don't think it will take her long to catch up. Hopefully within a few months. She is doing just fine otherwise. They evaluated her as a 12 month old and they said her comprehension is at the 17 month level! How cool is that?!?! We have a genius on our hands!!! LOL They were happy with how she is doing otherwise. And her speech is only a few months behind and mostly due to the fact that she had a cleft palatte. So we are thankful for programs that can help her at this age so hopefully in the future she won't need speech therapy. We are praying that by the time she is 2 years old she will be caught up!

Enjoying Our 4-Day Weekend

We had a GREAT weekend! James didn't have to work Friday or Monday so we enjoyed a nice 4-day weekend. Was so nice to be able to have nice solid family time. On Friday we just hung low. Didn't do much of anything. Saturday we cleaned out the gutters, cut down some more of the tree that got stuck by lightening back in July, and also cleaned out the garage. Faith slept thru most of that but once she was up, she enjoyed being outside with us. She just loves the outdoors! Sunday we went to my parents house for lunch as my brother was in town. We spent all afternoon and evening there. We arrived home just in time to put Faith to bed. We were also able to visit with some friends that were in town. Was so great to see them and meet their new addition to the family!! Monday we went to my parents house again for lunch and then we went out to my aunt's house to spend time with the horses. That was wonderful! I brought out my saddle and tried it on one of the horses and then we sat Faith up on the horse. She enjoyed it. I have big plans for her and horses. She's going to be my barrel racing gal! One just never knows! In the evening we had a nice visit with James's parents. Faith was getting cranky a little bit so I felt bad that she cried occasionally but I think I know why. Not only was she tired last night, but also not feeling well. She woke up all stuffed up and snot running down her face. So my poor precious peanut has a bad cold! We had a rough night. She kept on waking up as she couldn't breath. No temp though so that's good.
Overall our weekend was good. Went by too quickly though. Which always happens! We hope that everyone had a good weekend as well.
